The Department of Psychiatry at Beth Israel's volunteer program is specifically geared towards individuals seeking to improve their resume in their pursuit of an advanced degree in Psychology or Psychiatry (MD). The program involves a 10-15 hour/week, 1 calendar year commitment.

Volunteers will have ample opportunities to gain hands-on clinical and research experience at the hospital through participation in weekly rounds on hospital inpatient units, attending weekly Grand Rounds presentations, and departmental research meetings, and may elect to establish a leadership role on a research project by possibly writing and submitting a research paper.
